Preview: USA, Saturday 8.45pm GMT

Tampa Bay Downs: Endeavour Stakes (Grade 3) 1m1/2f, turf, 4yo+ f/m

TEPIN (Mark Casse/Julien Leparoux), who thwarted the European challenge in the Breeders’ Cup Mile on her most recent start, kicks off her five-year-old campaign in Grade 3 company at Tampa Bay.

But for a head and a neck, Tepin would have won all seven starts last year, when she ascended to the top of the US turf division with a string of victories including three Grade 1s, quickening clear for an emphatic success in the Breeders’ Cup.

She shares top-weight of 8st 10lb with Grade 2 winner Lady Lara (Bill Mott/Jose Lezcano) in a solid-looking field also featuring former David Wachman-trained Photo Call (Todd Pletcher/Javier Castellano), who won the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive at Santa Anita in September.

Also on Saturday

Tampa Bay Downs: Sam F. Davis S. (Grade 3) 1m1/2f, dirt, 3yo (7.15pm GMT)

Todd Pletcher, who can generally be relied upon to stock his barn with three-year-olds for the Classic preps, has a couple in here, namely front-running Gulfstream winner Gettysburg (Javier Castellano) and Destin (John Velazquez).

Rafting (Graham Motion/Edgar Prado) was a decisive winner of a stakes race at Gulfstream Park West (formerly Calder) on his final start as a two-year-old.

Gulfstream Park: Royal Delta Stakes (Grade 2) 1m1/2f, dirt, 4yo+ f/m (7pm GMT)

After a Grade 3 win here a month ago, Al Shaqab’s Sandiva (Todd Pletcher/Joel Rosario) has her first run on dirt. She has won three out of four altogether on the Gulfstream turf.
