Matt Hasselbeck is joining his brother Tim on ESPN’s airwaves in retirement.

Matt Hasselbeck is headed to ESPN.

After 18 seasons as an NFL quarterback — his last with the Colts — Hasselbeck called it quits Wednesday. He will move to the Bristol studio as a featured member of the “Sunday NFL Countdown” and “Monday Night Countdown” crew.

Hasselbeck is expected to replace Mike Ditka who will remain with ESPN in another capacity. This is the second recent “Countdown” change. ESPN hired Charles Woodson to replace Keyshawn Johnson.

“The exceptional opportunity presented to me by ESPN accelerated my decision to retire from playing football,” Hasselbeck said Wednesday in a statment. “I’m excited for the chance to give everything I have to this new endeavor.”

Seth Markman, ESPN’s senior coordinating producer, said Hasselbeck has been on ESPN’s “radar” for years.

“He has experienced it all. He has terrific insights on the game and a great sense of humor,” Markman said.

With Andrew Luck injured, Hasselbeck started eight games for the Colts in 2015, leading them to a 5-3 mark and keeping their season afloat. He completed 60 percent of his passes and threw nine touchdowns.

Hasselbeck’s brother Tim has been an ESPN NFL analyst since 2008.
