GODOLPHIN have made further investment in the Hugo Palmer yard, snapping up impressive Sandown maiden winner Best Of Days.

The Azamour colt made a lasting impression when scoring by six lengths on debut in the colours of Gerhard Schoeningh and is already quoted at 33-1 for both the qipco 2,000 Guineas and Investec Derby next year.

The 7f Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York next week, or the Listed Stonehenge Stakes over a mile at Salisbury have been nominated as potential targets.

Quoted on Godolphin.com, Palmer said: “He’s in great nick after his Sandown win. The immediate options are York or Salisbury, but he is a colt with long-term potential. He is a very nice horse and it’s nice to be training another for Godolphin.”

Palmer already trains Home Of The Brave for Godolphin, purchased by Sheikh Mohammed’s operation after he made a winning return at Leicester in April.

He has already rewarded them with a win in the Group 3 Timeform Jury Stakes and second in the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood, and is set to bid for a first Group 2 victory in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
