PORT ST. LUCIE — In Friday’s episode of the Yoenis Cespedes car show, he drove a tricked-out Jeep into the parking lot with a black sports car trailing behind. That was the car for his car-customizer, Alex Vega, to drive back after holding an impromptu press conference with the half dozen reporters waiting by Cespedes’ spot in the Mets’ players’ lot.

Vega, translating for Cespedes, said that the slugger had only had a bike and his feet to get around with back in his native Cuba. Then when he first came to the United States, Cespedes started out slow with a Mercedes GL, “a soccer mom car,” and has worked hard to build his stable of cars.

“He’s worked hard,” Vega said of Cespedes’ baseball career, “he deserves it, don’t you think?”

Vega, who owns the Auto Firm and Avorza brand, promised a grand finale on Saturday. Cespedes has told some people around the team he will drive another three-wheeled vehicle to camp on Saturday.

The jeep that Cespedes rolled up in Friday was white with customized red leather seats that had the distinctive stitching like a baseball. It also had room in the back for his golf-clubs, with the head covers matching the red on the seats. Cespedes is reportedly a scratch golfer.

Cespedes and his cadre of ridiculous vehicles are the talk of Port St. Lucie this week.

While Cespedes has had fun showing off his cars in Port St. Lucie this week, one teammate wanted to point out how generous he is with his fancy cars. Wilmer Flores drove Cespedes’ red Alfa Romero around Port St. Lucie for a month.

“It was nice, fun,” Flores said. “He let me drive it for about a month. It drives nice.”

If you somehow missed any of this week’s Yoenis Cespedes Car Show, don’t worry, he’ll be bringing a smaller, traveling display to Queens. The outfielder will bring “three or four,” of the vehicles he showed off this week to New York, said Alex Vega the man behind the tricked out wheels.

“He’s definitely bringing the Jeep,” Vega said, pointing to the white and red customized Jeep that Cespedes rolled into camp with on Friday. “He’ll bring a few more.”

And Vega is the man to know. Besides running the Auto Firm and Avorza brand, Vega transports the cars he customizes for his clients. He said he does big car-moving business to get players settled into spring training, when they head north for the season and again at the end of the year when they head home.

“I take care of it all for them,” said Vega
