CONDITIONS are set to be testing, but racing will take place at Bangor this afternoon for the first time since mid-December.

The course has lost its last four meetings to waterlogging but today’s meeting is not under threat according to clerk of the course Andrew Morris, despite overnight rainfall causing a change to the going.

Morris said: “We have changed the going to heavy after 5mm of overnight rain, and we are due a bit more, but we are fine to race. It will be good to get back racing after losing our last four meetings.”

Officials at Downpatrick had to cancel today’s scheduled meeting after 10mm of rain and snow left the course waterlogged. Tomorrow’s meeting at Clonmel has also been cancelled due to waterlogging.
