The Mets await the results of Yoenis Cespedes’ physical before officially announcing his signing.

Yoenis Cespedes was in town Tuesday to get a physical exam for his new Met contract.

As of Tuesday night, the results were not available, so the club could not announce the three-year, $75-million pact. Once Cespedes passes his physical, the Mets will plan a press conference to celebrate the signing.

Cespedes, 30, slugged 17 homers in 57 games with the Mets last year after a midsession trade from Detroit. He reportedly turned down a five-year, $110-million offer from the Nationals in part because he craved the big stage of New York.

Cespedes can opt out of the contract after next season. He will have made $27.5 million in his first year, if he opts out. That would tie Alex Rodriguez for the second-highest average annual value for a position player.
