Bryan Mitchell gets hurt just days before the season opens and could be out three months.

TAMPA – The injury news was good and bad for the Yankees on Thursday.

Andrew Miller said he plans to try pitching through the chip fracture on his right (non-throwing) hand. Miller will visit a hand specialist this weekend, though the closer believes he will be able to play with the injury.

The news for Bryan Mitchell was not as good, as the righthander was diagnosed with grade 3 turf toe on his left big toe, as well as a fracture of the Sesamoid bone. Mitchell will visit a foot specialist Monday in Charlotte, at which time it will be determined whether he will require surgery.

Mitchell reportedly could miss three months.
