Yes, while shooting a ball into a goal 10 feet off the ground from 15 feet away can puzzle Dwight Howard (career free throw shooting success rate: 57%), shooting it backwards from 75 feet away seems to be right in his wheel house.

Ironically, Howard, who has shunned trying to shoot free throws underhanded, decided to go underhanded here – and got the arc he needed to make it.

The Houston Rockets official Twitter account posted a video of the center making the trick shot in an effort to gain some more All-Star votes. Howard, an eight-time All-Star who hasn’t made the team since the 2013-14 season, currently trails (at least) the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, the Thunder’s Kevin Durant and Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard in the fan vote that picks the starters.

Howard is currently averaging a career-worst 14.2 points per game. His 11.9 rebounds per game average is on pace to be the second-lowest total of his career.
