Matt Barnes racks up nearly $100K in fines related to his feud with Derek Fisher.

Hating Knicks coach Derek Fisher is expensive for Matt Barnes.

The Grizzlies forward was fined $35,000 by the NBA for publicly defending his violence towards Fisher in their October scuffle, when Barnes confronted his former friend about romancing his estranged wife, Gloria Govan.

“Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is,” Barnes said Saturday to the Daily News and two other New York-based reporters. “And unfortunately, it happened. I don’t regret it.”

BARNES TO FISHER: ‘STAY AWAY’

The quote, according to NBA Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Kiki Vandeweghe, “does not reflect the who we are as a league or the character of our players.

“His words are unacceptable and entirely inconsistent with the core principles of this game and the NBA.”

Barnes is also appealing the two-game suspension levied by the NBA for the original incident.

That suspension — which followed a three-month investigation by the league — cost Barnes roughly $64,000 in lost wages.

So the bill for using Fisher as a personal piñata is just about at six figures.
