ROGER VARIAN has taken charge of the coveted first offspring of the 2011 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Danedream, a filly from the first crop of the mighty Frankel, who has been named Nothing But Dreams.

It’s a massive boost for the Newmarket trainer, who will have his biggest ever team for the forthcoming 2016 Flat season.

Part-owned by her breeder Teruya Yoshida, Nothing But Dreams is one of three Frankel offspring that Varian has in training from the first crop of the 14-time unbeaten champion who retired to Juddmonte’s Banstead Manor Stud in 2012.

The others include a half-brother to stable-mate Postponed, winner of the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes for Luca Cumani last year, owned by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid al Maktoum.

As well as that, Varian has a colt out of Model Queen who cost the China Horse Club 670,000 Guineas at Tattersalls last October.

Varian told GalopOnline.de: “Of course it’s a great honour and privilege that I have been asked by the Shadai Farm to train Nothing But Dreams. She is the daughter of an Arc winner from Champion Frankel.

“She has been broken in and is currently undergoing light canters. Of course it’s early, but she has a good action and good character.”
