Kristaps Porzingis can’t buy a bucket near the end of the Knicks loss to the Clippers Friday.

LOS ANGELES – Kristaps Porzingis’ first trip to Hollywood did not have the storybook ending.

The Knicks rookie missed three critical shots in the final 3:19 as the Clippers, who struggled to score in the second half, hung on for a 101-94 victory at Staples Center.

The Knicks fell to 27-40 heading into Sunday’s game against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

Porzingis led the Knicks with 23 points but he made just 6 of 17 shots and missed a dunk with the Knicks trailing by one with 3:19 remaining. Porzingis appeared to be fouled on the play just as he appeared to get hit when he blew a lay-up moments later. He didn’t get a whistle on either call although he did convert 10 of 11 free throws. Porzingis missed his last five shots.

Robin Lopez finished with 20 points and 19 rebounds and Carmelo Anthony added 20 as the Knicks are now just two defeats shy of clinching their third straight losing season.

Chris Paul led the Clippers with 24 points and 15 assists and JJ Redick added 20 including a three-pointer with 36.2 seconds left to give the Clippers a seven-point lead.

The Knicks held Los Angeles to 40 second half points.
