Odell Beckham’s cousin, Terron Beckham, is trying to make a run at the NFL.

Odell Beckham Jr. makes one-handed catches routine, masquerades as a kicker during Giants practices, and generally leaves jaws dropping whenever he does anything athletic.

But there just may be an even more athletic Beckham out there. And no, we’re not talking about David Beckham.

Beckham reportedly has a cousin, Terron Beckham, a personal trainer based out of Queens, has spent the past few months training out at TEST Sports Clubs in Martinsville, N.J., in hopes of making an improbable leap to the NFL. Terron Beckham never played college football and last laced up his cleats while in high school.

But he’s still hoping to draw interest as an NFL running back. And next week, while top draft prospects are participating in drills at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Terron will be working out at a separate Combine in Indy that’s meant for unknown prospects. He’s also going to participate in TEST’s Pro Day next month, according to TEST head Kevin Dunn.

Few scouts are familiar with Terron Beckham, but he’s generating Internet buzz, thanks to an Instagram page filled with stunningly athletic feats. There are 42 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press in one video, another video of him leaping onto a box with 225 pounds on his back. He’s deadlifted 585 pounds in one video, squatted 495 pounds with ease in another.

It’s stellar athleticism, and it’s gotten Terron Beckham public notice. But neither that nor his bloodlines means an instant ticket to the NFL. He’ll still need to impress scouts in the coming weeks, and few are ready to instantly gamble on a raw athlete with a valuable draft pick.

“Don’t know much about him,” said one plugged-in NFC scout.

Still, Beckham has plenty of time to impress. And he’s already generating buzz.

Just like that other, more well-known Beckham.
