The Pelicans are jinxed, according to a New Orleans voodoo priest.

It’s not injuries or poor performances that’s devastated the Pelicans’ season.

They’re just flat-out jinxed.

“I do believe, honestly, that they are jinxed, for lack of a better word,” New Orleans voodoo priest Belfazaar Ashantison told The Advocate.

“I think there’s a negative energy that keeps surrounding them.”

New Orleans Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry has put out an open call for a voodoo doctor after being told his team is jinxed.

Seven Pelicans — Anthony Davis, Quincy Pondexter, Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, Bryce Dejean-Jones and, as of Tuesday, Jrue Holiday and Alonzo Gee — will all miss significant stretches of the season with injuries, but a voodoo jinx is far more likely.

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said that he’d even put out an “all-points bulletin” for a voodoo practitioner in New Orleans to cleanse the Smoothie King Center.

“(We’ve) got to find the bones under this place or we’ve got to do something,” he told reporters after Monday’s 91-99 win over the Knicks.
