Nets guard Wayne Ellington Jr. gets some closure after his father was murdered.

Nets guard Wayne Ellington Jr., a supporter of gun-control efforts, said it was “bittersweet” when the man accused of shooting and killing his father was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.

“You always want justice to be served,” Wellington Jr. said at practice in Brooklyn on Wednesday, “but at the same time none of that could ever bring my father back.”

Online court documents show Carl White pleaded guilty to third degree murder and other gun charges in a deal with prosecuters Tuesday, after the Philadelphia jury was selected for his trial.

In November 2014, Ellington’s father was found shot in the head in the driver’s seat of a car in northwest Philadelphia. White was arrested Dec. 4, and police say an argument may have sparked the shooting.

Ellington Jr. was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers at the time of his father’s death — he signed a deal with the Nets in July.

“(My father) meant a lot,” Ellington said. “You only get one father, and the father-son relationship is a little bit different from any other relationship. I’m the only boy in my family, so it was a great bond we had, and I’m going to carry it on. He’s going to live on through me.”

Last month, Ellington Jr. tweeted support for President Barack Obama’s gun-control efforts: “I’m with @POTUS and his action to make our communities safer from gun violence.”
