IVAN GROZNY will attempt to continue the fine recent record of Irish trainers in Saturday’s Betfred Ebor as the favourite featured among a maximum field of 20 on Thursday.

A 14-length winner over the Ebor distance of 1m6f at Galway last time out, the Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old has a 4lb penalty for that victory and bids to give his trainer another win in the race after Sesenta’s victory in 2009.

Tony Martin bolsters the Irish challenge with Heartbreak City and last year’s joint-favourite Quick Jack.

William Buick takes over from James McDonald on Northumberland Plate winner Antiquarium, with Seamour, who agonisingly failed to provide Brian Ellison with a winner in the race he covets most, also declared.
