Japan: Real Steel could add to the international flavour at this season’s Royal Ascot, with connections keen on bringing the Dubai Turf winner to Britain.

The four-year-old triumphed for Yoshito Yahagi in Meydan with Ryan Moore aboard, providing trainer Yahagi with his first international Grade 1.

The Yasuda Kinen at Tokyo is a domestic option for Real Steel, but Yahagi said: “It is my opinion that I would like to go to England in June.”

The Dubai Turf is over 1m1f, and Yahagi added that he would look to run Real Steel over either a mile or 1m2f, leaving the Queen Anne and Prince of Wales’s Stakes as possible targets.

Arc not ruled out

Duramente finished an honourable runner-up to Postponed in the Sheema Classic, despite ripping a shoe off before the race, and connections have not abandoned hope of bidding for the Arc.
