If Cal Clutterbuck thinks Tanner Glass is afraid to fight Matt Martin, Glass has a message for him.

“He thinks I’m scared of Matt Martin? I think he should check hockeyfights.com and find out pretty quickly that I’m not scared of him,” Glass said Friday.

Glass’ response came a day after he flapped his arms at Clutterbuck, calling the Islander chicken for not wanting to fight an opposing fourth-liner while going after skill players like Derick Brassard and Mats Zuccarello.

After the game, a 3-1 Islanders win in Brooklyn, Clutterbuck was asked about Glass’ gesture.

“He was doing it at me and not Marty,” Clutterbuck said, “so that should tell you all you need to know about that.”

Glass explained Friday why he was calling Clutterbuck out.

“He’s the toughest guy ever when it’s Brassard and Zuccarello,” Glass said of Clutterbuck, who was also jawing with Rangers trainer Jim Ramsay. “He wants to fight the little guys but he’s supposed to be a physical player and gritty player, and he’s just silent when someone that might actually do something comes around? That’s not how the game should be.”

Martin and Glass mixed it up on Jan 23., 2014 when Glass was with the Penguins. The two simultaneously dropped their gloves to start the minor skirmish. They also fought on Jan. 11, 2011, both dropping the gloves right off a faceoff.

Clutterbuck said after Thursday’s game that he was yelling at Ramsay because the two have known each other for a long time, but Glass said the two have never met.

“He’s a phony,” Glass said of Clutterbuck.
