SOLOW is set to miss the defence of his Queen Anne Stakes crown at Royal Ascot after connections announced he is to spend a period of recuperation at the Wertheimers’ stud farm in Normandy.

A five-time Group 1 winner last season, Solow took a blow to a hind leg when exercising in March and missed a trip to Dubai.

Racing manager Pierre-Yves Bureau said on Tuesday afternoon: “Solow has left to recuperate at the Haras de Saint-Leonard, following the blow he took to a hind leg during exercise. He will return to Freddy Head when he has totally recovered.”
