Former Giant Rueben Randle agrees to terms with Eagles

Rueben Randle will now play against the Giants twice next season.

Rueben Randle has found a new home. And it’s not far from the former Giants wide receiver’s old home.

Randle signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday, officially putting an end to an inconsistent four-year run with Big Blue. The Eagles confirmed the move on Twitter.

Randle, 24, was a Giants second-round pick in 2012 and was billed by GM Jerry Reese as “NFL-ready”. But in four seasons in East Rutherford, he never once managed a 1,000-yard season, and he routinely frustrated club officials with his poor route-running and endured questions about his work ethic. Last season may have been his worst campaign; Randle managed just one 100-yard game and routinely disappeared in games.

The Giants seemed to have no interest in re-signing the receiver this offseason, but nobody else in the league had much interest, either. Randle visited just one team – the Los Angeles Rams – last week – before settling in with Philly on Wednesday.

The move keeps Randle in the NFC East, meaning he’ll face his old squad twice next season.
