Florida basketball cop shows up with Shaq, shocks kids

[ad_1]

It’s a Shaq Attack!

Shaquille O’Neal shocked a group of kids in Florida when he showed up to play some street ball — in the same spot where a cop shot hoops with some kids in a viral video.

In a clip posted to TMZ, Shaq strolls into the Gainesville Police Department, greeted by a room full of applauding and surprised cops.

Then, police show up at the basketball spot and start asking the players whether they’ve brought a good game.

They don’t seem impressed by the police presence — until Shaq steps out of the car.

To shouts of surprise and gleeful applause, Shaq jumps into the game and soon he’s shooting and dunking with local police and neighborhood teens.

Shaquille O’Neal, shown here at the Turner Upfront 2015 at Madison Square Garden, surprised a group of kids by showing up to join in a street ball game.

At the end of the game, he leads the kids in a chant: “I will become whatever I wanna be. I will be a leader and not a follower.”

Gainesville police last made news when a video posted to Facebook Thursday picked up more than 13 million views in two days.

In the minute-long video taken Jan. 15, Officer Bobby White approaches teens playing basketball and tells them he’s been sent in response to a noise complaint.

Then, he shocks them by explaining he doesn’t have any problem with what they’re doing — and that he’s down to join in the fun.

“Glad to see you all doing this and not out there starting trouble,” he says.

At the end of the video, White promises to return with backup — and on Saturday he made good on that.
