REIGNING champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa thinks Nemoralia will be impossible to stop in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot having witnessed her electric turn of foot up close last week.

De Sousa was aboard Czabo at York in the Listed Longines Irish Champions Weekend Fillies’ Stakes, finishing fourth to the Noseda-trained Nemoralia, who was a decisive six-length winner.

Speaking in Monday’s Racing Post as part of an expert jury, De Sousa highlighted Nemoralia as an eyecatcher, and said: “I was very impressed by her turn of foot when she went past me up the straight. Considering she hadn’t run for a long time it was a tremendous performance and I don’t think there’s anything that can beat her in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.”

Nemoralia is around 7-2 for the Coronation Stakes.

Fran Berry is also part of the Jury, and he fancies an Aidan O’Brien-trained runner for the Investec Derby, but not one prominent in the betting.

He said: ” I like Idaho at a big price. I rode in the Derrinstown, when Idaho wasn’t beaten far in third, and I don’t think he got the run of things as he was a good bit back in a steadily run race. I think he’ll improve for the step up in trip and looks to have a decent each-way chance.”
