COLE HARDEN will miss his rematch with Ryanair World Hurdle winner Thistlecrack in Saturday’s Liverpool Stayers’ Hurdle after working poorly at the weekend.

Last year’s World Hurdle winner, who finished fourth at Cheltenham last month, was found to be lame after the exercise, according to Warren Greatrex.

The trainer said: “Cole Harden won’t run [at Aintree]. He didn’t work very well at the weekend and he’s not quite right.

“We’re looking into it and hopefully it’s nothing too serious. He’s lame and we’ll find out what the issue is and go from there. I’ll know more tomorrow.”
