Yoenis Cespedes, who hasn’t played since Sunday, is told to take it easy for a couple days.

JUPITER – Yoenis Cespedes has been playing with a stiff hip and Tuesday he was scratched from the travel roster. The Cuban slugger last played Sunday as the designated hitter in the Mets win here over the Marlins.

Terry Collins was not overly concerned about Cespedes missing any significant time with the injury, saying he had played through it before.

“He’s got a stiff hip,” the Mets manager said. “He had it the other day. He said, ‘look, I can play. I get it every spring.’ I said, ‘listen, let’s not be stupid. We’ve got tomorrow off anyway. Let’s take the extra day and then you kick it in gear.’

“He’ll be fine. He’s been there every day at 7 a.m., running his ass off.”

The Mets have a scheduled off day on Wednesday.

Cespedes has seven hits in 19 at-bats in seven Grapefruit League games this spring. He has four RBI, but has yet to show any of the power that recharged the Mets’ lineup last season.

Re-signed this winter to a three-year deal worth $75 million, but with an opt-out after one season, Cespedes has entertained the Mets with his collection of customized cars, an entrance to camp by horse with Noah Syndergaard and by purchasing a Grand Champion hog at the St. Lucie County fair for $7,000. Wednesday, Cespedes will entertain his team with a cookout, which the team was quick to point out was not a roast of his prize pig.
