Josh Donaldson’s haircut earned him some lighthearted backlash on Twitter from former teammate Brandon McCarthy.

Why so salty?

Reigning American League MVP Josh Donaldson is the new owner of a shiny two-year, $29 million contract, but that wasn’t enough to keep former teammate Brandon McCarthy from getting in a dig at his haircut.

“Congrats on the deal. Now you can tip your barber so he’ll stop doing what he does to you,” McCarthy tweeted.

Donaldson, who wears his hair long on top with shaved sides and started sporting a manbun near the end of the season, responded with “love for (his haters) too.”

McCarthy, who has been on the disabled list since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April, countered back that the style looks good on the MVP, though.

With less than two months until Opening Day, McCarthy probably has enough time to grow his hair out to flip-worthy lengths.
