GARY MOORE said on Monday he was “absolutely gutted” after Traffic Fluide was ruled out for the season due to injury.

Traffic Fluide had made an highly promising first appearance of the season last month in the Grade 1 Sodexo Clarence House Chase, beaten only a short-head by race-fit stablemate Sire De Grugy when the pair were second and third to Un De Sceaux.

That run had put him into contention for both the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase, for which he was a general 14-1 chance, and the Ryanair Chase, in which he was 16-1 for success, at the Cheltenham Festival next month.

However, Moore said: “I wanted to run Traffic Fluide in the Game Spirit [on Saturday] but he is not quite right. He picked up a slight injury on Saturday morning and he will be out for the season. I am absolutely gutted.”

Owned by the Galloping On The South Downs Partnership, the six-year-old Traffic Fluide was a progressive novice chaser last season, ending the year with a third to Sizing Granite in the Grade 1 Maghull Novices’ Chase at Aintree.
