An adorable toddler named Lucas showed up to Wednesday night’s Warriors game with a sign asking Curry’s daughter, Riley, to be his Valentine.

The plea was a little premature considering we haven’t hit February yet, but persistence is key. It also awarded the tot an early chance to meet the parent, before any awkward dinner table conversations.

Steph Curry greeted Lucas outside the locker room after Golden State defeated the Mavericks, and he let the budding star-crossed lover down easy.

“I don’t know if the answer’s yes or no, but it’s good to meet you,” Curry said.

There’s still hope!

Apparently Lucas has some competition, though, because another young suitor showed up to a game last week with a sign that read, “Marry me Riley.”

Riley’s only three years old, so daddy had better become accustomed to this for the next few decades.
