Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith whacked Minnesota’s Charlie Coyle across the face with his stick, earning him a match penalty, an ejection from Chicago’s 4-1 loss and a certain looming suspension.

Coyle somehow stayed on his feet but was seen bleeding from the nose after the brutal – and seemingly intentional – hit in the first period.
