It’s a swing and a hit for John Oliver.

Funny social media responses are pouring in after the comedian put out a call for photo submissions in order to win tickets to see the New York Yankees, which he dubbed “the biggest elitist a–holes in all of sports.”

This year, the team put a stop to accepting printed tickets, in part out of concern that people would resell their tix and then — the horror! — the riff-raff might end up on the premium Legends Club seats.

On Sunday’s show, comedian John Oliver offered Yankees tix in exchange for a quarter and a strange picture.

In response, the show purchased tickets to each of the first three games of the season and put out an open call to viewers to submit photos under the hashtag #IHaveNeverSatInAPremiumLocation for a chance to snag the seats at one of those games for just a shiny quarter.

The one condition, the British comic cautioned, was that “you must dress like you have never sat in a premium location before.”

The creatively costumed responses are lighting up Twitter and the gag hashtag is trending. Here’s a look at a few of the best submissions.

Monday’s season opener, against the Astros, has been cancelled due to rain and moved to Tuesday at 1:05 p.m., which could give the comedian’s team a little more time to make first-round selections.
