Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne have been dating since the summer.

Relationships can get messy, and it sure seems like Ronda Rousey is in the middle of an ugly one.

Rousey and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne are together — he famously said of their relationship “Dating is for children … She’s my woman and I’m her man. There’s no boyfriend girlfriend stuff.” — and have been since the summer, at least.

The problem is that Browne is still married — he and his wife, Jenna Renee Webb, are separated and finalizing the terms of their divorce. Webb has accused Browne of assaulting her, and over the summer released photos showing her bruised body, damage she says was inflicted by Browne, who never faced criminal charges and was also cleared in an internal investigation by UFC.

When Rousey hosted “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend, many pointed to a large ring she was wearing on her left hand. Webb saw it also, and shared a meme mocking Rousey.

“Is Ronda Rousey wearing a promise ring?” it reads, “As in ‘I promise not to hit you like my current wife’ ring?”

Webb, who called Rousey a hypocrite for her comments about Floyd Mayweather’s domestic abuse issues, used that term again when sharing the meme.

Rousey, who has been uncharacteristically quiet in the face of Webb’s criticism, had her own Instagram message, which could be seen as a retort. The former UFC champ shared the “sunshine and rainbows” quote from Rocky VI, which is all about getting hit and being able to pick yourself back up.
