Terrell Suggs admits to Scottsdale, Arizona cops that he ‘possibly fell asleep before the collision.’

Terrell Suggs became a blip on the NFL’s always-busy offseason police blotter early Friday morning, when he was arrested in Arizona. But by all accounts, the issue was a minor one, the result of a handful of unpaid speeding tickets.

But the Baltimore Ravens linebacker did not seem hugely worried.

“MooD:…….. Driving with a suspended license! Street Cred=100,000 Trillion. My bad Y’all.. Dumb Ass SiZ,” he wrote alongside a meme labeled “Thug Life.”

Suggs, 33, was arrested at 2:03 a.m. by Scottsdale (Ariz.) police for leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license. According to the police report, Scottsdale officers had “received a call of a sound of a collision” at 1:20, and when they’d arrived on the scene, they had seen “evidence of a collision.”

They were able to follow a fluid trail to a local grocery store parking lot, where they found a white BMW 750Li that had been registered to Suggs and showed “fresh damage.” The officers then contacted Suggs, who was “not impaired,” according to the report, although he admitted to officers that he “possibly fell asleep before the collision.” It was then that officers learned he had been driving with a suspended license.

Suggs was released from Scottsdale County Jail just hours later, though. No one was injured in the accident, Suggs’ agent, Denise White, said in a statement, and Suggs’ suspended license was solely the result of unpaid tickets.

“Terrell found his license to be suspended for speeding tickets,” White wrote in the statement on Twitter. “Terrell will let the judicial system take its course and fix his license issues.”

The Ravens said in a statement that Suggs notified the team, and the club is “looking into it.” Suggs did not play in 2015 after suffering a torn Achilles in the season opener.
