Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is reportedly walking away.

Marshawn Lynch, who doesn’t reveal much publicly, is privately telling some within the Seahawks organization that he plans to retire, according to ESPN.com.

The star running back only tallied 417 yards on 111 carries during a regular-season plagued with injuries.

The 29-year-old first suffered a hamstring injury and then underwent abdominal surgery in November that caused him to miss the last seven games of the regular season. He also missed Seattle’s NFC wild-card win over Minnesota.

The Panthers, who face the Broncos in the Super Bowl on Sunday, defeated the Seahawks 31-24 in the divisional round of the playoffs, when Lynch only rushed for 20 yards on six carries.

Seahawks GM John Schneider had said in January that Lynch was “leaning toward” retirement. Lynch will reportedly walk away, although ESPN.com is reporting that teammates are still trying to change his mind.

The five-time Pro Bowler, who began his NFL career with the Bills in 2007, won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks in 2013. He led the league in rushing touchdowns in 2013 and 2014.
