Orleans Darkwa saw limited action last season with the Giants, his second season in the NFL.

The Giants tendered seven of their eight exclusive rights free agents on Friday, including a promising young running back and their only two healthy tight ends.

The seven players who got non-guaranteed, one-year offers (at the NFL minimum salary) were running back Orleans Darkwa, tight ends Jerome Cunningham and Will Tye, safety Bennett Jackson, receiver Myles White, offensive lineman Adam Gettis and punter Brad Wing. The only ERFA they did not tender was receiver Marcus Harris, who is now an unrestricted free agent.

Harris, 27, missed all of last season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee, and missed all of 2015 with shoulder and hip injuries.

Darkwa, 24, showed flashes of power last season, rushing 36 times for 153 yards, but he was stuck at the back end of the Giants’ much-maligned, four-running back rotation. Tye, 24, emerged as a receiving threat last season after starting tight end Larry Donnell went down with a neck injury, catching 42 passes for 464 yards and three touchdowns.

The 24-year-old Jackson had a chance to start at safety last season before tearing his right ACL in a preseason game. He also missed his rookie season in 2014 after undergoing knee surgery. Wing, 25, was acquired from the Steelers last summer for a seventh-round pick and will likely be the Giants’ starting punter. Cunningham, 24 and White, 25, and Gettis, 27, will all have a chance to battle for a job in training camp.
