Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is the most high-profile name mentioned in Al Jazeera’s explosive report linking several professional athletes to performance-enhancing drugs.

Major League Baseball and the NFL will team up with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to investigate claims made in an Al Jazeera documentary that several professional baseball and football players received banned, performance-enhancing drugs.

The news of both leagues joining forces with USADA was first reported by ESPN.

“We are working with MLB and USADA,” an NFL spokesman told the Daily News. “The review is ongoing and comprehensive. It involves obtaining and reviewing numerous records, conducting multiple interviews and working with other entities. We do not comment on the specifics of these matters until the review is completed.”

“We’ve had discussions with USADA and are hopeful that together we can make progress in this investigation,” Dan Halem, MLB’s chief legal officer, told ESPN.

Travis Tygart, the chief executive officer of USADA, was expected to meet with MLB Tuesday in Manhattan, according to ESPN.

When “The Dark Side” film aired two days after Christmas, a pharmacist named Charlie Sly appears in the documentary and says in secretly recorded conversations that he supplied PEDs to big names in sports, like former NL MVP Ryan Howard, Nationals infielder Ryan Zimmerman and NFL players James Harrison and Dustin Keller. Sly also said in the film that the banned substance, human growth hormone, was shipped to Super Bowl-bound Peyton Manning’s wife, Ashley, via an Indianapolis anti-aging clinic. Peyton Manning has vigorously denied using HGH, but didn’t deny his wife had received the drug.

Howard and Zimmerman both filed federal civil lawsuits against Al Jazeera America, claiming they were defamed by the network.

But a journeyman baseball player, catcher Taylor Teagarden, also appears on camera in the film and is first seen waiting outside Sly’s Texas home. Teagarden later says on camera that he received the steroid precursor Delta 2 from Sly.

Tygart and Halem did not immediately return calls for comment.
