Nerlens Noel goes for a piggyback ride on Andre Drummond

Andre Drummond has been fouled in every imaginable way this season, but Nerlens Noel came up with a new one Wednesday night.

With the Pistons up 104-94 and just over a minute to go in the game, Noel jumped on Drummond’s back, piggyback style, to intentionally foul Detroit’s star center.

It usually works, as Drummond came into the game shooting 26.9 percent from the line in his last 13 games, including a barely believable 1 for 14 in the last two.

But Drummond — who just last week was fouled intentionally 21 times — hit one of two from the stripe and Detroit won, 110-97. He finished with finished with 25 points and 18 rebounds and was 7 for 12 from the line. Noel had 20 points, including a monster dunk on Drummond, and seven boards.

As if the foul itself wasn’t funny enough, Noel’s quotes after the game — about playing against Drummond in general, not the foul — make it even more laughable.

“I’ve been playing against Andre since I was 15, so I know what you have to do to stop him,” Noel said.
