Mets, Neil Walker settle arbitration case at $10.55M for '16

Jeurys Familia is now the lone potential arbitration case remaining for the Mets.

Newly acquired second baseman Neil Walker settled Friday on a $10.55 million contract, becoming the eighth of the nine Mets eligible for arbitration to settle on one-year deals in recent weeks.

Familia, who tied the franchise record with 43 saves last season, has requested a raise from $524,000 to $4.8 million — with the Mets countering at $3.3 million.

Walker made $8 million with the Pirates last season and had been seeking $11.8 million in arbitration, with the Mets offering $9.4 million.

Lucas Duda ($6.725 million), Addison Reed ($5.3 million), Matt Harvey ($4.325 million), Ruben Tejada ($3 million), Jenrry Mejia ($2.47 million), Carlos Torres ($1.05 million) and Josh Edgin ($625,000) previously had settled to avoid arbitration. Torres since was designated for assignment by the team last week.

The Mets announced that minor-league outfielder Brandon Nimmo, their 2011 first-round pick, has a partially torn tendon in his left foot. Nimmo received an injection and will be in a boot for about 10 days before being re-evaluated.
