Matt Harvey still mistakes Jacob deGrom for a woman

Jacob deGrom’s fastball confuses hitters, but it’s his hair that continues to baffle fellow Mets teammate Matt Harvey.

“I walked in the locker room and was getting ready to prepare myself for whatever it was I had to do and I was surprised,” Harvey said on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Wednesday night.

“I’m looking at someone sitting on a chair and all I can see is long hair running down the back. I thought it was a woman. But he’s got some flow.”

MATT HARVEY SAYS HE HAD THREESOME ON A BASEBALL FIELD ONCE

Asked about the Bane to his Dark Knight, Harvey immediately named Jayson Werth, the outfielder for intra-division rivals Washington Nationals.

“I was actually not even in the big leagues yet, I was in spring training and Jayson Werth of the Nationals hit one of the biggest, longest home runs I’ve ever seen,” Harvey said.

“It still has not landed yet. So I would probably say that Jayson Werth is my Bane and I really buckle down when I face him.”

JACOB DEGROM, METS HAPPY YOENIS CESPEDES IS BACK

As for the return of Yoenis Cespedes, who was officially announced in a press conference earlier that day, Meyers was more interested in an August photo of the slugger surrounded by a seafood feast during a road trip to Baltimore.

“That’s actually why we re-signed him,” Harvey joked.

“We’re not going back to Baltimore so we didn’t have to worry about him eating all the crab.”

Harvey, too, was part of the feast, he said, but took offense when Meyers asked if he enjoys Maryland crab and the hammer used to break apart the shell.

“I don’t think anybody really wants to have a little hammer,” Harvey said.

Maybe that’s how the Mets could afford Cespedes’ shiny new three-year, $75 million contract: they’ll save money on seafood costs.
