Flogas Novice Chase (Grade 1) 2m5½f, 5yo+

WILLIE MULLINS’ clean sweep of Leopardstown’s Grade 1s continued with Outlander’s easy victory in the Flogas Novice Chase.

Sent off the 13-8 favourite, Outlander saw off the challenge of Pont Alexandre and looked to be on top when a mistake at the last cost the stablemate his chance.

Having gone clear, Outlander finished an eased down two and three-quarter lengths in front of Monksland.

Settled in second, Bryan Cooper followed Pont Alexandre until drawing alongside at the fourth last. The pair rounded the bend together before Cooper sent the eight-year-old on to seal things with a good jump at the last.
