RACING UK is set to add two new tracks to its roster with Leicester and Stratford expected to switch from rival broadcaster At The Races next year.

The move is believed to have been prompted by the betting shop picture rights deal RUK’s parent company Racecourse Media Group signed with SIS last September, which will run from 2018 until 2023.

SIS currently broadcast action from Leicester and Stratford to betting shops.

The defection from ATR would take RUK’s portfolio of British courses up to 36, with the two tracks joining a list including Aintree, Ascot, Cheltenham, Goodwood, Newbury, Newmarket and York.

ATR currently show action from 25 British tracks, although the loss of Leicester and Stratford will be tempered by the return of Hereford later this year following Arena Racing Company’s decision to reopen the course, having closed it along with Folkestone in 2012.
