Jeremy Kerley wasn’t a right fit in the Jets’ offensive system under Chan Gailey.

After releasing Jeff Cumberland earlier in the day, the Jets made another expected cut on Wednesday by letting go of slot receiver Jeremy Kerley, according to a source.

Kerley did not fit in Chan Gailey’s offensive system and largely went unused as the Jets elected to bump him down the depth chart. Kerley caught just 16 passes 152 yards and two touchdowns last season.

2016 NFL FREE AGENT TRACKER: FOLLOW THE FRENZY HERE

The Jets will save $1.3 million against the cap by cutting Kerley, but will incur a $1.8 million dead money charge.

Kerley, a fifth-round pick in 2011, was signed to a four-year, $16 million extension with $5.4 million in guarantees in 2014 by then-GM John Idzik.

Kerley, 27, was used more by previous offensive coordinators. He leaves the Jets after five years, totaling 182 receptions for 2,225 yards and nine touchdowns. He also returned punts, often to the fans’ chagrin, while with Gang Green.
