Earl Wolff, who played 18 games with the Eagles before signing on with the Jaguars’ practice squad, was kidnapped at gunpoint and held briefly last month in North Carolina.

Jaguars practice squad player Earl Wolff was kidnapped at gunpoint in his own car in North Carolina in February, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

The paper reported Saturday that the defensive back had been the victim of an alleged kidnapping around 3 a.m. on Feb. 23. He was walking to his car and got jumped by a group of armed gunmen, who forced him into his vehicle. He was only held for a short period of time, police told the Observer, before being released unharmed. Wolff was also robbed.

Wolff is recovering and doing well after the frightening ordeal, the team said Saturday, via ESPN.

One man, Bobby Deshawn Bailey, has been arrested in relation to the kidnapping, per the Observer. Bailey was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree kidnapping, conspiracy, larceny, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of marijuana, police told the newspaper.

Wolff, through the Jaguars, asked for privacy regarding the incident, via ESPN.

Wolff was a fifth-round pick by the Eagles in 2013 and played in 18 games for Philadelphia between 2013 and 2014.
