Is this heaven? No, it’s Iowa.

The Hawkeyes had dropped six of their previous eight games to plummet from a No.3 national ranking to a No.7 seeding in the NCAA Tournament, but Iowa spoiled a potential all-Philly matchup in the second round by pulling out a 72-70 overtime win over No.10 Temple in in the second game of the day session at Barclays Center.

Adam Woodbury beat the overtime buzzer with a put-back from the left side of the basket for Iowa (22-10), which instead will face No.2 Villanova in the Round-of-32 on Sunday in Brooklyn.

All-America candidate Jarrod Uthoff scored a game-high 23 points and Peter Jok added 16 for Iowa, although the latter missed two of four free throws in the closing seconds of regulation.

Quenton DeCosey led Temple (21-12) with 26 points and eight rebounds, including three free throws to force the extra session after being fouled by Anthony Clemmons with 2.1 seconds remaining in the second half.

Iowa came out firing and buried six three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes, and led by as many as 12 (32-20), but Temple closed the half on a 17-6 spurt to trail by one into intermission. Iowa also led by 10 in the second half, but DeCosey’s bucket drew the Owls back within three with 1:40 remaining.

Following a defensive stop, Temple’s Obi Enechionyia missed a potential game-tying three from the left corner. Jok missed one of two free throws with 18.4 seconds remaining and did so again with 8.8 seconds left to give Temple a chance to tie.

DeCosey was fouled by Clemmons attempting a three from several feet beyond the arc on the left side and coolly drained all three from the foul line to tie the game.

The game was still tied, 70-70, when Bronx native Daniel Dingle was fouled after securing a rebound with 22 seconds left in OT. But Dingle missed the front end of the one-and-one, and Iowa advanced when Woodbury – after appearing to push off a Temple defender – snared a rebound and banked in the putback just before the final horn sounded.
