Former defensive tackle Jeff Zgonina is on Ben McAdoo’s coaching staff.

Jeff Zgonina, who spent 17 years playing defensive tackle in the NFL, will be the new assistant defensive line coach for the Giants, a source confirmed Friday. And that should be the final piece to Ben McAdoo’s new coaching staff.

The 45-year-old Zgonina will fill a newly created position on the Giants and will work with defensive line coach Patrick Graham, who was recently hired away from the New England Patriots. He has spent one year as an assistant coach — with the Houston Texans in 2013, when he was their assistant defensive line coach.

McAdoo, the new head coach of the Giants, is now expected to formally announce his first coaching staff next week. He had been waiting until he filled all the positions, according to a team source. About half of his staff will be holdovers from the Tom Coughlin regime, a source said, including defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, who was most recently the Giants quarterbacks coach.
