Dundee’s Scottish Premiership game with Rangers has been called off after the pitch at Dens Park failed a second inspection.

The surface was deemed playable at 11:00 BST but heavy rainfall has rendered the pitch unplayable after another check at 15:30.

The SPFL have confirmed the match will now take place on Wednesday 17 April.

The league body also added there are disciplinary proceedings ongoing against Dundee due to their pitch.

Rangers are one point behind Celtic following Sunday’s thrilling 3-3 derby draw at Ibrox, and this is Philippe Clement’s side’s game in hand over their city rivals.

A victory would have taken them two points clear at the league summit, while a Dundee win would have clinched a top-six berth.
