White Sox players are becoming increasingly more vocal in their displeasure with how clubhouse access for Adam LaRoche’s son has been handled by the front office.

Pitcher Chris Sale told reporters Friday that GM Kenny Williams told a “bald-faced lie” about limiting Drake LaRoche’s clubhouse access, and placed blame on his coaches, management and teammates for the events that led to LaRoche announcing his plans to retire over the proposed change policy.

A proposed reduction in clubhouse access for Adam LaRoche’s son, Drake, led the veteran to say he’s preparing to retire rather than having his son around 100 percent of the time.

“This isn’t us rebelling against rules,” Sale said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “This is us rebelling against B.S.”

Sale, the Times reports, had LaRoche’s jersey hanging in his locker Monday and it was signed by Drake LaRoche. “To Chris: Thanks for taking care of me. Drake LaRoche,” it read.

Adam Eaton, the team’s player rep, told the Times that he’s spoken with the Players’ Association about possibly filing a grievance on LaRoche’s behalf.

Eaton added that LaRoche told him that he had a contractual agreement to have his son with him in the clubhouse.
