Brendan Rodgers has returned as Celtic manager four years after leaving to join Leicester City.

The Northern Irishman has agreed a three-year contract with the Scottish champions to replace Ange Postecoglou, who left for Tottenham this month.

Rodgers, 50, was sacked in April by Leicester, who were subsequently relegated from the Premier League.

He won seven domestic trophies in a row during his first spell at Celtic from 2016 to 2019.

That included an unbeaten debut domestic campaign and consecutive trebles.

The former Liverpool and Swansea boss left Celtic midway through the 2018-19 season, with some fans unfurling banners criticising him for a lack of loyalty.

Rodgers, who made clear his lifelong support for Celtic, led Leicester to their first FA Cup triumph and the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

He was sacked after Leicester dropped into the relegation zone following a fifth defeat in sixth matches.
