Kristaps Porzingis can thank his teammates for saving his behind.

The rookie blew it Wednesday at the Garden, committing a boneheaded foul by falling for a pump fake from a 3-point shooter in a pivotal moment. It cost the Knicks the victory in regulation, but they won for the second straight game in overtime, 118-111, over the Utah Jazz.

The Knicks (22-22) recovered from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, and Carmelo Anthony – who Wednesday passed Larry Bird for 31st on the NBA’s all-time scoring list — was feeling it down the stretch of regulation. All in the final minute, he picked up two assists on 3-pointers and blew past Rudy Gobert for a dunk 15.6 remaining 15.3 seconds remaining.

Utah was down to its last chance with a 3-point deficit when Gordon Hayward stepped to the 3-point line against Porzingis. The rookie bit on the fake, leaving himself vulnerable. Hayward then drew the three-shot foul on with 2.4 seconds remaining, and buried his foul shots to send the game into overtime.

Porzingis, who finished with 16 points and five rebounds, left the game with his sixth foul, then watched Anthony, Robin Lopez and Derrick Williams finish the business in overtime.

The Knicks were playing catch-up for most of this game, trailing from early in the first quarter until 5:08 remaining in the fourth. That’s when Anthony dunked on Utah’s Trey Lyles, giving New York an 81-80 advantage to set up a dramatic finish.

Anthony, who played nearly 50 minutes Monday on a sore ankle, dropped in a game-high 30 points on 13-for-20 shooting with seven rebounds and nine assists. He played 42 minutes on the night he passed Larry Legend.

Robin Lopez scored 22 points – including four in overtime – with 12 rebounds. Reserve Derrick Williams, who finished with 18 points, was the hero in OT with seven points and the big shot: an and-1 lay-up off an offensive rebound that required him to jump six times to fight off Utah players. It gave the Knicks a six-point advantage with about one minute remaining.

The Jazz (18-24), who trounced the Knicks in Utah last month, got 27 points from Hayward and 29 from Rodney Hood. The Knicks battled foul problems through much of the contest, with Afflalo also carrying five in the fourth quarter. New York was whistled for 25 fouls total, aggravating a crowd that was muted until the Knicks’ comeback in the fourth quarter.

Porzingis was listed as questionable because of a sore foot, but kept his goal alive of playing in every game this season.

“I think it’s a good goal to have as a player because you have to be intentional about doing that,” Derek Fisher said. “There is a lot that goes into playing all 82 games in terms of being healthy and taking care of your body, getting rest, etc. Whether or not that happens, we’ll see. He’s playing really intense minutes right now. There could be a night where it’s best to not have him out there, but right now, he’s hanging in there pretty good.”
