These young Senator fans will welcome a new dog into their family thanks to Bobby Ryan’s second period goal.

That’s my dog!

Ottawa Senators forward Bobby Ryan, of Cherry Hill, N.J., scored a young Sens fan a puppy by scoring a goal with 19.9 seconds remaining in the second period of a 3-0 win over the Rangers at Canadian Tire Centre on Sunday afternoon.

A young boy held a sign against the glass during pre-game warmups that read, in black and red marker: “Bobby, Dad said if you score we get a puppy!” Ryan tallied, and TSN’s Shawn Simpson later tweeted a photo of the family of four in the stands, confirming the boy’s father would honor his promise.

“Just ran into the ‘Puppy’ family. Confirmed the puppy will be named ‘Bobby’!!!” Simpson wrote.

Ryan already had been under pressure to come up big after calling out his Senators teammates following Friday night’s 5-2 home loss to the Islanders.

“We had problems in that third period all over the ice from everybody: guys that simply don’t want the puck, guys that simply won’t go hunt the puck down,” Ryan said Friday, according to TSN’s Brent Wallace.

But after scoring Sunday’s goal, “Ryan said he felt more pressure to get the family a puppy than he did for calling out his teammates,” Ottawa citizen columnist Wayne Scanlan tweeted.
