Hue Jackson led the Raiders to an 8-8 season in 2011, his one year at the helm in Oakland.

The Giants will interview their sixth candidate for their head coaching job on Monday, in ex-Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith. But they may not be done after that.

The team has submitted a request to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. It was a move that had been expected for several days now; Jackson, who has already interviewed with the 49ers and Browns, is widely considered one of the most appealing head coaching options of this offseason.

Jackson, 50, piloted an impressive Bengals offense that averaged 26.2 points per game this season, despite having to deal with the late-season loss of quarterback Andy Dalton. He brings head coaching experience, too, having guided the Oakland Raiders to an 8-8 record in 2011. Jackson was fired after that season and Oakland hasn’t equaled that win total since his departure.
