Tiger Woods’ last competitive round came in August 2015 at the Wyndham Championship.

Tiger Woods is still recovering from back surgery, but that didn’t prevent a few of his fellow PGA golfers from poking fun at him Thursday night at a Ryder Cup dinner at Jack Nicklaus’ home in North Palm Beach.

Jimmy Walker told ESPN that he joked with Woods “wow … you’re not dead,” to which the 14-time major champion responded “Yeah, everyone thinks I’m dead.”

U.S. captain David Love III organized the event, and Woods, who will serve as a vice captain even if he’s unable to play the Ryder Cup in late September, was among those in attendance.

“He’s swinging in a simulator, I saw, so he must be getting better,” Love said. “He looked great. He always looks good. He looked fit. Looked happy.”

Woods hasn’t played competitively since the Wyndham Championship in August, but he posted a video of himself earlier this week swinging a 9-iron on a golf simulator with the caption that he’s “progressing nicely.”

“Tiger looked great,” Billy Horschel told ESPN. “I saw him in the Bahamas at the Hero World Challenge (in December) and he was in rough shape, and he said that. (Thursday) night he looked really good.

“He said he’s excited to be progressing and hopefully he’ll get back out here and kick our a–.”
