Ronda Rousey gives a shout out to the Pope as she challenges Manny Pacquiao’s comments.

Manny Pacquiao has been heavily criticized for his recent comments describing those in same-sex relationships as “worse than animals,” and while Ronda Rousey disagreed with Pacquiao’s sentiment, she took a calmer approach then Dave Bautista, who called Pacquiao a “f——g idiot.”

In the same interview with TMZ during which she discussed erasing the stigma surrounding suicide after admitting to Ellen DeGeneres she had suicidal thoughts, the UFC star says that some people misconstrue religious messages.

RAISSMAN: PACQUIAO IS SORRY FOR COMMENTS? DON’T BUY IT

“I understand that a lot of people use religion as a reason to be against gay people, but I mean, there was no ‘Thou shall not be gay,’ you know?” Rousey said. “God never said that, and I really think our Pope right now is a boss.

“He was saying something I think the other day that religion should be all-encompassing and should be about welcoming everyone and loving everyone and not leaving people out, and I think sometimes people take the wrong message sometimes.”

Pacquiao posted an apology on social media but maintained he is against same-sex marriage because of what the Bible says. His comments cost him his endorsement deal with Nike.

The boxer had quoted a Bible verse on Instagram which said homosexuals “are to be put to death,” but that post was deleted.
